Default New total conversion mod for UT04

http://www.nksgaming.com/soulkeeper.html

My clan is the official host of The Soulkeeper. This is a total conversion mod that has a medieval feel to it. Swords, shields, bows, crossbows, and spells.

The spell casting takes a bit to get used to. Since the spells are so powerful, the designers made it hard to actually cast. You first have to find the spell you want from your book. Then you right-click and draw the shape on the left page. Trust me, its not easy. After you get it right, the shape is replaced by an animation of the spell. You can use that spell until your adrenaline runs out.

The crossbow is nice. It shoots straight but has a long reload. The regular bow has an arc but is faster.

The sword and shield combo is sweet! There is also an axe.

There are a few bugs in this first public release, but all in all it is awesome. Check it out, and be careful, the bots are very angry. Hopefully soon there will be more people on the server.

There are a few issues with actually installing the game. Not much, just a couple hurdles. Once you download the file, extract everything into your UT2004 folder. Then run UT04. Under Community, select the mods section, then select Soulkeeper. Let it load up and go to the settings. It might take a while to load since it is all new graphics and personally I don't think everything is optimized just yet.

In the settings section, turn off...well I forgot what it was called, but its the 2nd to last box on the right. This is some kind of 3D thing and its not working 100% just yet. If you have a slower system, turn off all the other check boxes then exit the game and restart.

If you have any problems, post here and I'll try to answer them.

And here's the official game site:

Thanks alot! I had forgotten about this mod in development. I checked it out last year and thought it would be good. I really hope it is.
